it's that time of the year again when u will go:
"wah.. time really flies.."
"i thought it was just yesterday i entered college.."
"i felt like it was just yesterday i finished my spm.."
*some even worse*
"it feels like i just entered high school the other day"
and:
"aih, i wished i did this and that last year"
"i wished i spent my time wisely before this"
"i hate 2005, all hail 2006"
and walalalala the list goes on..
*
and i wonder, why is it that we always make choices that we regret? will we ever have a year that we could proudly say in the Lord, "I have no regrets for the past year, i have obeyed Him in everything, hallelujah!" ?
i think maybe we could not say the second line.. that we have obeyed Him in everything.. but i think it is possible to say that we have no regrets for the past year. even if we do have failures in our past year, even if we do fail Him miserably, the Lord forgives and forgets. He always will be there for us, never leaving us nor forsake us. David was called a man after God's own heart not because he obeyed God in everything but because He seeks forgiveness and repents when he does something wrong. and so i think to have a year with no regrets lies in.. whether or not we are close to Him.. whether or not we want to surrender our lives fully to Him.. whether or not we are doing His Will.. for if we're doing what He truly wants us to do.. whats there to regret about?
Have a Blessed New Year 2006!
